Sophie Gilbert

Dr. Sophie Gilbert is a wildlife ecologist and assistant professor at the University of Idaho, interested in how animals respond to the rapidly changing modern world, including behavior and population and community dynamics, as well as wildlife-human connections. Within BC, she is the co-primary investigator for the Southern Interior Mule Deer Project, which has deployed 225 camera traps to learn how landscape change and the predator-prey community affect mule deer populations so that they can be restored.
