Kootenay Density Project
Kootenay Density Project
The Kootenay Density Project is a collaboration between the ACME Lab, the Government of BC and UBC’s Wildlife Coexistence Lab. At its core, this project aims to evaluate the quality of science underpinning moose management in BC. We are setting out to assess established protocols for moose density estimation (namely, aerial ungulate surveys) and explore the potential and limitations of unmarked camera trap density models for moose inventory.
