Madison Novakowski
Madison Novakowski is the Wildlife Stewardship Coordinator for Williams Lake First Nation in the Interior of British Columbia. Her work focuses on Indigenous-led wildlife stewardship, collaborative research, and community-based monitoring initiatives that support culturally important species and landscapes. Madison uses camera traps as a key tool for wildlife monitoring projects, including research related to elk, fishers, and other wildlife species within the WLFN Stewardship Area. She is particularly interested in integrating camera trap data with Indigenous knowledge and other monitoring approaches to support long-term conservation and management efforts.
